BEAUTY || Lipsticks To Lust Over – Bobbi Brown Edition

When it comes to lip products, I usually don’t get much action there but slowly and gradually I am trying to change that. I have been visiting a lot of high end counters lately with Bobbi Brown being one of my favorites. Here are my three picks of some of their best lip colors.

Bobbi Brown

1- Carnation #12

Carnation is a part of Bobbi Brown creamy/semi matte lipstick range. It comes in their luxe golden and black packaging. You know with the gorgeous Bobbi Brown printed on it. ❤

Carnation lipstick is a peachy pink color which goes somewhat nude on my lips. It is highly pigmented and gives a full coverage. It glides on well and has a smooth texture. It is light but I felt if you build it, it gets a little heavy. A very good pick if you’re looking for an everyday/nude lipstick.

2- Cherry Pink #6

Cherry Pink is a part of Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color range. It is a berry toned lipstick. The formula is very light. It glides on well too and has a very glossy texture. This is perhaps the only lip color that I could call my perfect nude as my lips are kind of dark and this lip color goes amazingly with it. It screams ‘my lips but better’ to me, ha.

3- Hollywood Red #94

How exactly can I leave Bobbi Brown without finding a Red lip color and falling in love with it? Hollywood Red is the kind of red I love – extremely bloody. It is a fuchsia based red lipstick that has a creamy/glossy texture that glides on well too. This one also comes in their luxe packaging and is a sight for sore eyes. If you are into rich colors or love red lipsticks, you need to have this in your collection.

I really want to say one of these lipsticks is my favorite but I can’t because all three of them are just so darn good!! Let me know which one’s your favorite lip color from Bobbi Brown. I need to try more from BB. 😀

Have a good day ya’ll! 🙂

BOBBI BROWN The Hot Collection – Limited Edition

bb1 Intro

It is that time of the year again when Bobbi Brown comes out with her limited edition collection. To begin with, I am a massive Bobbi Brown fan especially her limited edition collections because they are always super cool. Having lost the chance of buying her previous two collections; Rich Chocolate Collection and Nectar & Nude Collection, I am very determined to get my hands on her latest one – The Hot Collection in collaboration with Kate Uptown. I first saw it on Bobbi Brown Middle East Instagram and knew right away it’s totally up my street.

The collection features:

Three Limited Edition Sheer Lip Color Shades – Hot Pink, Hot Orange, Hot Berry

I got a chance to try Hot Berry and really liked. It gives a very sheer glossy dark pinkish color to your lips leaving them looking very natural and quite drool worthy. Most of the berry toned lip colors I try are always too dark for me and kind of make me look like a vampire but this one was perfect – not very dark not very light – just the perfect amount of pinkish berry color.

Three Limited Edition Art Stick Shades – Hot Pink-10, Hot Orange-11, Hot Berry-09

I have my eyes on the Hot Berry one because I like Hot Berry Sheer lip color a lot and I am not the one who spends on glossy stuff but if I do get it I might just pick the Art Stick too. Would do anything to prolong the lip color effect, ha.

Limited Edition Hot Nudes Eye Palette –

Row 1 – Left to Right – Ivory, Smoke Shimmer Wash, Peach Sugar Shimmer Wash, Cement Sparkle

Row 2 – Left to Right – Nude Petal, Bronzed Beige Metallic, Taupe, Blackest Brown

I love Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Eye Palettes. They are always so good. Their Hot Nudes Eye Palette is something I would definitely spend on. It has all the perfect colors that can be used for any occasion, casual or formal. You can dress up with them or dress down. Absolutely love it.

Limited Edition Cheek Palettes –

I am not into cheek palettes as I like individual pots more and I have recently purchased an extremely gorgeous pink blush (I’ll share soon, lovelies 😉 ). From Left to Right – Pale Pink Blush / Pink Highlighter / Powder Pink Blush

Limited Edition Ink Liner

A pen ink liner in shade Darkest Black. Not something I would invest in because I have no eyelid space lol but wouldn’t mind giving it a go.

As far as I know it’s retailing in Oman from 15th of May (yessss I have some time to save up for all of it) but I shall keep you guys updated if I see it in store before that.

So what do you guys think about The Hot Collection? Which product would you spend on? I definitely need the Hot Nudes Eye Palette in my life.

Till next time,

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg -

1- Currently Reading

I got my hands on Girl Online by Zoe Sugg (Blogger/Youtuber Zoella). A friend got it for me from Pakistan. It is not available in Oman for now. So far I have read a couple of chapters and I am reading it in Zoe’s voice, ha. I can’t wait to read more and give you guys a review! Very glad I got a copy because I was dying of curiosity. All my favorite bloggers are coming out with their books and it’s so exciting. This community is thriving and I am so proud of being a part of it. 🙂

Lindt Swiss Dark Chocolate -

2- Testing Testing

I don’t like to experiment with chocolates because I am a forever Galaxy and Cadbury girl (with except of Patchi and Starbucks) but I tried Lindt Swiss Dark Chocolate this week and it was quite good. It tasted like Starbuck’s Dark Chocolate and I guess I will probably repurchase it (quite a lot from now). I would love to try other flavors too from Lindt so if you have any favorites do leave them in the comments below. 🙂

Maybelline Lady Red Lipstick -

3- Red Lips

I can’t deny it anymore; Red Lips is my most favorite thing in the whole world. I can’t stop trying Red lipsticks from every makeup counter. I love them all and I want them all. Recent favorites include Bobbi Brown Hollywood Red, MAC Ruby Woo and MAC Cherry Lip Pencil. For now, I am wearing my Maybelline Red Lady lipstick nonstop. Red Lips are just my kinda thing.

Khaadi -

4- Kurta Obsession

Now this is a complete South Asian thing. There is a Pakistani clothes brand called Khaadi. It’s very popular and kinda high-end. They have come out with some really nice Kurtas and I am dying to fly off to Lahore and buy myself the whole shop. A friend got me one and I still didn’t get my hands on it but as soon as I do I shall keep you guys posted on how lovely it is in real.

Durr-e-Najaf -

5- New on Finger

I don’t really think anyone would know about it but I recently got a ring with a transparent stone called ‘Durr e Najaf’. It’s related to Islamic history and I do not know much other than that Hazrat Ali (R.A.) used to wear this stone on his finger. I love it. It’s absolutely gorgeous and ever since I got it, I didn’t take it off. They say it wards off troubles. Let’s hope that’s true. 🙂

The White Company -

6- Room

I am getting a little crazy with the idea of redoing my room completely. For now it doesn’t seem anything like me unless you count my bookshelf in. I am thinking of doing some home ware hauls and just get my room to look more like me. I am thinking of wall frames, wall shelves, some candles and more books. I can start with a new and bigger bookshelf and a study table that goes with my furniture. Also, packing away some unwanted items for now would be great too. Anybody has any suggestions please let me know in the comments below. I need to make a Pinterest board.

Have a good weekend y’ll!

A Little Update from My Makeup Brush Collection~

I am currently trying to build a basic brush collection (Read – every single brush I can get my hands on 😛 ) for myself and investing in brands that are going to last me a very long time and do the job real well. So far I have bought MAC 168 Contouring Brush and MAC 217 Blending Brush.

As you guys must have guessed from the title, I bought another makeup brush. This time I went for Sigma 3DHD Kabuki Brush. I am a fan of applying foundation with my fingers but when it comes to a well blended and flawless finish, you need to invest in a good face brush. So far this brush has been amazing. Its soft, sturdy and has such a unique shape that makes it easy to reach places you’d have to reach with your fingers only – like corners of the nose. The application has been real good though I need a lot of practice with it as I have no experience with face brushes.

I plan to do a in depth review of MAC brush and this one together soon, so stay tuned for that. Also, I would appreciate if you guys can suggest me which brush I should buy next. I am looking for a blush brush and I was thinking of Bobbi Brown or MAC. I want to go for Bobbi Brown because of course I want to own a brush from there too, ha.

Lots of Love, 🙂

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipsticks by Kate Moss~

DSC05782 - Copy

It is common knowledge in this part of the internet that I don’t have much experience with makeup but I like to spend fortunes on it. Though there is just one product I like to be careful about before picking – Lipsticks. Ever since buying Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick Lady Red, which was the darkest red ever, as my first proper lip color and practically never wearing it I decided to experiment with colors a little before investing in my first ever MAC Lipstick (and the haul that will follow).

I went over to Rimmel Counter a couple of days back and after swatching (it’s not a word I know but please just go with the flow with this one) almost every lipstick in the stand, I came out with two.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 05 is a pretty pink that is very similar to my natural lip color. This lipstick brings out my lips fuller and I can go with the statement – My lips but better, ha. This is an everyday color.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 12 is a bright Orange/Tangerine color that I bought just because MAC So Chaude didn’t suit me and I was very upset about it. I love 12 and sport it more than 05 as I am still getting the hang of wearing Pink. Not A very girly girl. This is a great shade for autumn/winter.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipsticks are glossy and glide on well. I usually apply a lip balm, Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched if I am in a rush or The Body Shop Cocoa Lip Butter if I have some time in my hand before applying lipstick. If your balm hasn’t sunk in and you apply these lipsticks, they are never staying on, so be careful about that.

These Lipsticks are not very long lasting especially if you’re going to be eating or drinking but if you don’t mind checking your makeup every now and then, this will do just fine with you. The best thing is their price tag, so very reasonable at just R.O. 2.900.

Overall I am happy with the purchase (but my mind won’t stop screaming MAC & Bobbib Brown NEXT!!!!!)

BEAUTY ~ An Appointment with Bobbi Brown

20141125_184436 ed

I went to Bobbi Brown last week and ended up having a very cheeky appointment with their sales person. I went to inquire if they had restocked on Nectar & Nude Eye Shadow Palette but once the appointment started I had far more questions to ask.

The first one was about Bobbi Brown books. I had assumed I would get them in Borders or some other book store but I didn’t find them there. This was the main reason I went in the first place. Turns out the books are available in the store only. I don’t know if that’s the case in other countries but it is in Muscat. So if any of you is looking for Bobbi Brown books in Muscat, you know where to find them now. They have all the three books; Makeup Manual, Everything Eyes Book, and Pretty Power. Each one cost about RO 16.

The second question was about Foundation. Now the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation (click here for my review on it) that I have is light to medium coverage. You can build it up but I am not a fan of too much product and because I am really enjoying their foundation I wanted to get a full coverage foundation by Bobbi Brown only. Also, I was looking for a SPF free one but sadly Bobbi Brown doesn’t do SPF free foundation. I ended up trying their Long Wear Foundation in 2.5 Warm Sand which is my color. Just like their Skin Foundation, it felt like nothing on skin, gave it a velvet finish and did a good job in concealing any face marks. I do believe thought this shade was a little dark on me and I should’ve opted for a lighter one.

The third question was about Eyeliner. My eyelids don’t have a shape and if I apply eyeliner or eye shadow it never shows. Also, my eyelids are very oily so any eyeliner I apply, it doesn’t stay at all. I tried Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black. I really liked the formula and it stayed on my lids for a really long time. The salesperson applied it thick and advised me to do the same because of my lids’ shape and if I wanted it to show.

The fourth question was on lips. My lips are kind of dark and I prefer colors that make them look presentable and not like I’ve got skin on. That’s why I don’t like brown or nude shades on the lips. I’d rather go for bold lips instead. We looked into a few colors and in the end settled for Rosy 11. It was the perfect pink – not very bright, not very pale, but quite natural.

The fifth question I had was about their moisturizers. I have sensitive eyes and am always careful to use products that don’t irritate them. I also often look for eye creams and so far I haven’t seen much other than in The Body Shop or Bobbi Brown. The salesperson made me try Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream. I was covered in makeup by then so I tried it on my hand. I can’t tell much about it as trying it on hand is totally different than trying it on the proper area. I just felt it made my skin smooth. I was informed this eye cream can also work as an eye primer. I think if eye area is the most neglected one and if you find a product that works well with your skin and eyes, it’s a good investment. The next moisturizer I tried was their Hydrating Face Cream and it was extremely soothing. I enjoyed the tingly feel and it smelled like Oranges. Ah, so heavenly.

Other than these I tried their eye shadow in Wheat and found it really nice. It was very natural on my lids. I tried their Bronzer in Golden Light as well. I was told about their Shimmer Bricks and how every single one of it is for specific makeup styles though I am pretty sure they can be used in various styles and in various ways. I love their Shimmer Bricks though. I am also absolutely obsessed with Bobbi Brown brushes and couldn’t stop myself from eyeing and stroking them.

My appointment went pretty awesome and I am pretty much tempted in buying the whole store now. The salesperson was friendly and gave such great tips and advises. I would suggest anyone out there who is looking for light weight formulas that does the job effectively to check out Bobbi Brown store. Yes, it is high end and one product costs a lot but I would say their products are worth investing in, especially their brushes and eye shadow palettes.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post. Do let me know in the comments below what you liked the most. I would love to interact.

Call It Spring 1

1- Reads

I popped into Call It Spring in Muscat City Center and picked up their booklet. It was quite interesting and consisted of interviews by their staff and some famous bloggers about various dressing styles and what items they are more interested in. It also had some great photography. I felt the theme was quite awesome. Don’t forget to grab a copy if you find their outlet in your local mall.

2- Music

I can NOT stop listening to 1989 by Taylor Swift lately. This album is just so good. I love all her Harry related songs especially Wildest Dreams, Styles and You’re In Love. Shake It Off, Blank Space and I know Places are amazing tracks too.

Red Cup

3- Drinking

I had my first Red Cup of the season from Starbucks this week!! I am one happy chappy and can’t wait to have more. 😀 The return of Toffee Nut is welcomed with open mouths.

4- Movie Time

I went for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 on the weekend. Totally loved the movie and would recommend every Hunger Games fanatic to go and see it. Don’t forget to take a tissue box with you because you will need it A LOT.

Brightening up the dining room by placing this gorgeous bunch on the dining table.

REVIEW ~ Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15

Bobbi Brown!! Bobbi Brown!! Bobbi Brown!!

I’ve been attracted to this brand ever since it opened here in Muscat. I wasn’t a huge fan of makeup then and had practically no idea how to apply some but now that I know a few things, the name Bobbi Brown sounds like angels singing in my ears, ha. I would also like to thank Lily Pebbles for deepening my attraction toward Bobbi Brown by writing up a review on Nectar and Nude Collection back in March. I fell completely in love with it. It’s a shame it was out of stock when I went to purchase it and they weren’t planning to restock it any time soon. Anyway!

Bobbi Brown Foundation

I did my first Bobbi Brown shopping a few months back and got myself the Skin Foundation SPF 15. It comes in a 30ml transparent thick blurry glass bottle with a pump and cover in black. I found the bottle extremely classy. Its box was in plain black and had the Bobbi Brown and all the information written in white. Extremely classy yet again.

I got the Skin Foundation SPF 15 in shade Warm Sand 2.5. It’s a tone lighter to my natural skin. I went for a shade similar to my skin but it looked muddy on me hence I went a shade up. The formula is extremely light weight and applies smoothly on the skin. I use my finger tips to spread it. The end result is fantastic. It looks so natural and feels extremely light. It is also very hydrating hence cause no damage to the skin. The coverage is medium but it blurs out your blemishes and any other imperfections quite well. Contrary to some reviews, I actually found it can be built up. Though I prefer not doing that and instead use a concealer to hide any leftover spots. Its lasting power is amazing. It gave me straight 13 hours without unsettling or going greasy on my face. I was over the moon.

When I was on the hunt for the perfect foundation I was looking for something non greasy, light weight and with a good lasting power. I was beyond happy when Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation turned out to be exactly that. At OMR 25.750, it was pricey for someone who survives on pocket money but when I saw the results, I was glad I didn’t go for any other brand. I would have hated buying something expensive and it not being what I wanted.

Another thing I would like to add is, the staff was ever so helpful and friendly and advised me well on what foundation I should go for. They applied it for me in the store and also gave me great tips on what concealer I should go for and brushes I should use.

I would advise anyone out there who is just about as much awkward and shy to ask questions when buying things as me, to get talking to the sales person. Most of them don’t bite, trust me. They are in a better position to help you. Another advice, if you are investing in a high end product, try it as many time as you want till you are not sure you are ready to buy it. It’s okay. I used to pick up products by trying them just once and after purchasing and using them I used to get disappointed. Then I became ‘fearless’ (yes, fearless because it takes a lot of courage to ask the intimidating sales people questions and try products out with them looking at you) and started trying things out in the shop every time I used to go to the mall. I bought the foundation I guess on my fifth trip to the store and trust me nobody killed me for it. So, try and test a couple of times before you buy something.

I loved my experience of shopping at Bobbi Brown. I can’t wait to go back and shop again as I have my eyes on its Creamy Concealer Kit. I just need to save up a lot of money before I do so, ha. 😀

Who is a Bobbi Brown fan here?! Let me know in the comments below! 🙂

Have a good day ya’ll! 🙂
