Lately #15 ~ Monday Babblings

Hie you guys!

How’s everyone doing? I hope everyone had a good weekend and start of the week. I wanted to do a serious post but then I got lazy and thought of doing a chatty one instead where I just share stuff that’s been going on with me. Well there hasn’t been much except me staying at home mostly and scrubbing the house clean all day errrdayy. In between all that there have been a few things that make me believe I have a life.

For starters I have got back into reading. I was in a reading slump but now it’s all good. I am going to pop a post tomorrow so watch this space. 😀

Music wise there are some songs I have been listening to on repeat. Pretty Little Liar’s soundtrack has been on fleek this season. They had such amazing tracks but Give Us a Little Love by Fallulah have been the best. Good For You by Selena Gomez ft. A$AP Rocky is another one of my favorite these days. I love how sexy Selena’s voice is in this song and A$AP’s part is super cool. One Direction came out with their new single Drag Me Down which is nice too. I saw the video and Louis looks *insert HUGE heart eye emoji* super love. I also gave a listen to Lana Del Rey’s single High By The Beach. It’s similar to all her other numbers but I still like it plus she looks fabulous in the video.

Fashion wise Dungarees are back in trend. *8 years old me is doing the happy dance in one right now* I love the causal/comfy look. I am all about that life lol. I can’t stop drooling over all the different styles and cuts. I am extremely tempted to order them all but momma can’t afford right now, kiddos, ha. xD My favorite has got to be mid thigh/above the ankle, side buttons and ripped ones. Ah, absolute dream.

Makeup wise I have been obsessed with the brand Bourjois. I have been swatching there product every now and then when I visit the mall and I am in love. Their blushers and velvet lipsticks/lip gloss has caught my fancy. Fragrance wise I can’t stop thinking about Victoria’s Secret body mists. I want to go there and say ‘one of each please’. One day I will do that.

In other news, I have been missing L a lot from Death Note. I might have an urge to rewatch the anime and movies. I have also been re-watching Friends (yes, I have that much time) and I feel like I will never love another show again now. Not for a while at least. *psst don’t tell Sheldon*

What have you guys been up to?! Let me know in the comments below! 🙂

Thoughts & Reflections

2014 Favorites :) ❤

Hola Fellaz!!

I can’t believe today is the last day of 2014. I mean it was just yesterday I was out and about shopping for my birthday. Time is passing so quickly I can hardly keep track anymore.

Now I am not a very cool person and doing monthly favorites or general favorites for that matter have never been my thing. I fall in and out of love way too quickly. However this year I decided to do a 2014 Favorites post. So let’s get started! 😀

~ Blog ~

I have written some cool pieces this year and I am kind of very proud of them (even if they aren’t very cool as per the standard, haha). The first thing I am super happy about is the ‘Lately’ posts – snippets of my everyday life. When I started Rebel’s Spot I had somewhat promised myself not to go personal on the blog but there was also a part of me who wanted to turn a section of the blog into my private diary kind of thing and hence started the Lately category. Thanks to Becky from MilkBubbleTea blog for inspiring me. I actually love all of them and am linking them (CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM) for you all to have a look. 😀

I wrote two personal posts which I love rereading every now and then and I think you should give them a read too so; SMILE – YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO BE THIS SAD and THOUGHTS ~ Staying Strong 365 Days a Week Book by Demi Lovato & Mantra Magic

My favorite post however remain saying Goodbye to 2013 (Click here to see it). Favorite post ever I would say.

beaut 2014

~ Beauty ~

I like how I have got into beauty recently (I don’t like the affect it has made on my saving plans though 😛 ) Most of the year has been spent checking the aisles of the beauty section of every store I have ever been to. I have experimented, learned and read so much about beauty, skincare and have discovered such nice products which is an extremely new thing for me. All in all I am happy about it.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash has been my constant partner this year keeping my oiliness much under control. The Body Shop Born Lippy in Strawberry has been a complete babe. I just love the lip balm so much. It leaves my lips soft, smooth, plum and pink. Maybelline Colossal Kajal and Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen have been amazing too. I do not look like someone has smacked my eye sockets ever since I started using these, ha. Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 and Maybelline Fit Me Concealer have helped me cover up my acne so well throughout the year. I love these too as they are light on the skin and have 12+ hrs amazing staying power. The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream has been such a soothing product for my face and has fixed my dry patches immensely. The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask has been a champ. It reduces oiliness and blackheads when used regularly and I have been doing nothing else. I do let the routine slip sometimes and that’s just okay.

~ Body ~

Marks & Spencer Nature’s Extracts Fresh Aloe Vera Exfoliating Body Scrub has been amazing. It keeps the skin smooth and smells so fresh and green.

~ Nails Wise ~

Essence Nail Polish in That’s What I Mint, Wanna Be Your Sunshine and Off To Miami by Essence have been gorgeous. I love wearing these three together.

~ Fragrance Wise ~

Victoria’s Secret Bombshell in Bloom and Victoria’s Secret Night body mists has been my favorite this year. I have loved using 212 VIP Perfume by Carolina Herrera a lot too this year.

~ Fashion ~

I loved my Leopard Ring by Max and my Leaf Ear Cuff by Parfois. The best picks of this year, ha. Let’s not forget my latest purchase Printed TightsI am in love with these and can’t wait to wear them out, haha.

~ Books ~

I am actually sad about this category because I didn’t read much this year. With what little I read Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell (Click here for review) has been the best book. I loved it so much and would recommend it to the whole wide world. A must, must read if you haven’t already. There are two other books I liked and did not review yet; 1- Fifty Shades of Grey (Book 1) which was all kind of amazing and 2- The Truth About Alice was such a good read and I would recommend it to every (teenage) girl out there.

I wish I could include The Book Thief and The Forty Rules of Love here but as I sucked at reading this year, these two will be included in next year’s post, lol.

~ Movies/Shows ~

I am not a movie person anymore. I’ve become too impatient for them. Favorite movie for this year has got to be The Fault in Our Stars (Click here for review). The book didn’t have that much affect on me the way the movie did. I simply loved it.

SHERLOCK and DOCTOR WHO!!!!! Team Moffat all the wayyy, haha!!! 😀 I have loved these two so muchhhh and these shows have made me cry buckets and buckets of tears but that’s alright. Mr Moffat is allowed to do as he pleases. I can’t wait to watch more of these two in 2015.

~ Music ~

Hmm, I have been hearing a few albums on repeat this year. For once I have heard old albums of One Direction on repeat. Then albums wise I have heard X by Ed Sheeran, Ultraviolence by Lana Del Rey, Four by One Direction and 1989 by Taylor Swift. Singles wise: Rude by Magic, I Wanna Be Yours by Artic Monkey, Parachute (acoustic version) by Ingrid Michaelson (thanks Pretty Little Liars), Counting Stars and Love Runs Out by One Republic, Team by Lorde and Ayo Technology by Milow. Soundtrack wise: (500) Days of Summer.

I didn’t do Food favorites because… seriously how do you even decide that? Some life related stuff; I graduated from uni with Bachelors degree and I have started working full time now for an Electrical Engineering company.

And that’s it. We have covered my year in 2014, ha.

Hope you guys had a good 2014. May you have a splendid 2015 filled with love, happiness and lots of peace of mind. 🙂

See you on the other side, aye! ❤

Love yourself – often and enough

Where We Are Exclusive Movie Premier~

Like I said yesterday, we need a two days discussion thing on the blog for One Direction. Today I am going to talk about their latest movie.

I won tickets for Where We Are exclusive premier in VOX Cinema from Hi fm here. I could bring a friend along, and knowing how much Haya loves One Direction, I asked her. Her sister, Sarah, accompanied us as well. We messed up the timing due to which Haya got late and I was freaking out. I went over to the guys from Hi fm and explained them my situation. They were so sweet and helpful and told me it’s okay and they are going to take some time before starting the movie – extremely nice people. I am talking about Steve and Scott, the RJs, if anyone was wondering.

By the time Haya came and we entered the hall, the movie was on and we had missed a little part of the interview which was okay by me but not for Haya 😛 I think it was a brilliant idea to make a movie out of their concert because there are still so many of us who haven’t seen them live and might not ever do too but this way we had a chance to see how it all is on stage. Though I still prefer This Is Us kind of a movie more over the concert film but Where We Are was a fun watch too.

And because the movie was their concert, everyone in the cinema was singing along to the songs and was hooting and stuff. The atmosphere was awesome and we had just so much fun. Once the movie ended, Scott and Steve handed out movie posters. Mostly to kids but there was someone in the VOX management who heard me whining outside about how badly I wanted the poster too and took pity on a twenty something me and handed me and Haya posters too, haha. We were so happy. Where We Are poster graces my bedroom wall these days and it’s always a lovely sight, lol.

After the movie, Haya, Sarah and I had some lunch and chilled out at the mall but that all is for another post. I think I am done with my One Direction talk on the blog now unless of course you don’t count talking about Four, their new album. I do want to talk about it but not right away. Maybe in a week or two.

Ciao! ❤

One Direction Books Review

Guys, I think we need to have a serious two days One Direction discussion on the blog because I have been planning to write this post since January and it is almost the end of the year and I still haven’t wrote about it. Topic of discussion is One Direction books. As you guys must have figured out from this post itself, I am a massive One Direction fan. Don’t freak out, I am in my twenties. Okay, this sounded freakier. Not all their fans are teenagers. There are a lot of us in our twenties and some friends of mine who are in their thirties and we freakin’ love One Direction. Of course people in their thirties won’t profess their love for 1d publically but me being in my twenties can scream from the top of the Eiffel Tower that I am obsessed with the band which means I am obviously going to buy their books if I see them in Borders here.

(credit: Thank you Haya!! :* ❤ )

The first book I got my hands on was The Official Annual 2014 book. I was giddy with excitement back then because we didn’t get any celebrity books before that in Muscat. It was a short book that was more of a slam book type thing. It consisted of their names, favorite color, food, date and stuff. The paper quality was amazing but the content was just alright. I was actually disappointed because it was a gift from a friend and was overly priced and the content was almost stuff we already knew and I felt like it was a waste. In the end I was still happy to have something of theirs.

(credit: Haya aka Bae ❤ )

Next book I got was Where We Are Official Autobiography. This was one huge book and I was extremely happy and excited to read it. It was assembled well but I still felt the content was lacking. Even though it was said the boys wrote it, it didn’t really feel like it. I felt like they had just elaborated their Official Annual 2014 book. Only Zayn’s part had a little insight when he spoke about how he likes reading books because it helps him enhance his vocabulary. This is the only new thing that we got to know about the band.

Now I do know that One Direction is the biggest boy band and with the amount of popularity they have, their whole lives are like an open book to us so they can’t really tell us something which we don’t already know. But I do believe they can at least write their books differently from the previous one. They can try making it a continuation rather than repeating the same thing over and over again. I mean a person gets bored of reading about the same first BAFTA experience, and their first tour and all that jazz. Yes, they are pretty big achievements but they can move on now and share the next chapter with us.

*he is so perfect my heart cries*

I went to Borders last month twice. The first time I went I saw The Official Annual 2015 book. Again it was overly priced and the content looked the same. The paper quality was great and the pictures were awesome but nothing that we haven’t seen on the social media already. I clicked Louis’ picture in the book and moved on. Being a hardcore fan I know I am going to go back and buy this book one of the days when I have some cash to spare or when I am feeling extremely spending and wanting to buy stuff I am never going to use in a million years, yes I am quite sure I’ll get it.

*In case you’re wondering how it looks without the jacket*

The next time I went to Borders I saw Who We Are Official Autobiography. I have a thing for big books. The moment I saw it I didn’t care if the content was repeated, I knew I was getting it. I had some hopes that maybe this time they will include something about them, something personal but I was left disappointed again. The book is assembled awesomely as always and so far I’ve just read Liam’s and Niall’s part… and I am already bored… I don’t feel like picking the book up again and continuing.

Why can’t they just write about stuff we would actually be interested in reading? We wouldn’t even mind reading what they do every day or how they wear their clothes or even reading their grocery list… but the same content again and again? Now that’s a complete put off. I really want to read about what they think about friends, family and what they do when they are with them and is it always dinner at some restaurant or staying at home watching telly with takeouts. Really, I just want to know little things about them, like why Harry thinks new shoes should be rubbed against the floor to make them look less posh and more worn. What goes in their mind and how much upset Niall was when Louis stole his sandwich and how he made up for it. Just little, ordinary, everyday life things. Is it too much to ask for?

No matter how much I write about all this, I know when the next book hits the stands and it’s all the same content again, I am going to buy it because I will support them through everything. I just really want them to take a step back and think about keeping us fans happy for the long run and not just for a few years… because we certainly want them to stay forever. It’s not always go, go, and go.

Are you a Directioner? (and as upset as I am?)

Lately #6

I haven’t done a Lately post in about two months and I have missed writing about it but there wasn’t much going on in my life. Now however I am having a bit of fun so thought to blog. So let’s just dive into it 😀

1- Mum’s The Best

I love coffee and enjoy trying a lot of different cafes but nothing comes close to the coffee my mum makes. It is heaven. I try making it like she does but I can never do so. She is just so amazing at cooking and everything food and drinks related.

2- Best Friend Always Know

My best friend Annayah gave me a late birthday present and it was a book, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I loved the movie and I was crying over the book ever since I saw it in Borders. I was broke so I didn’t buy it and it was the last one in the store. Annayah bought it for me the next day and surprised me when we next met. I was over the moon. She recorded me while taking the gift squealing excitedly in the middle of the mall, ha. Best friends always know what makes you happy. I love you, Annayah, my reading partner. ❤

x and ultraviolence

3- Music

I know I am a little late but that’s always the case with me about almost everything. I downloaded X and Ultraviolence the moment they released but I didn’t have much time to listen to them because I was moving house. Now I listen to these two albums on repeat and I just can’t get enough. I might do a review post on both the albums. Tell me if you think it’s a good idea in the comments below! 🙂

4- On My Wall

ONE FRICKIN DIRECTION IS ON MY BEDROOM WALL!!!!!!!! Yaaaaayyy!!!!!!!!!! I can’t really believe this. FINALLY!!!!

I won two tickets from Hi FM radio of their latest movie premier and they were giving out posters. They gave it to teenagers but someone in VOX cinema management took some pity on me and gave me and my friend one too. Thank you, whoever you were, Mister Kind.

5- Working On

I did a blog post about a really huge Book Haul (CLICK HERE) I did a while back. I have now started working on reading those books. I read The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown some weeks ago. It was on my to-read list since years now. So glad I got done with it. 😀

6- Shopping 😀

Last weekend was simply amazing. I shopped after a really long time. I am trying to make lists of important things I want and trying to go through them one at a time. Let me know if you want me to pop those wish lists on the blog often too. I would love to share and also know what’s on your shopping list.

I am so happy I am back to blogging my Lately posts. These are my absolute favorite to write. Let me know if you like them as much as I enjoy posting about what I’ve been up to.

Love yourself often and enough ❤

Mood of The Day ~ Louis Tomlinson ♥

I think I’m gonna win this time,
Riding on the wind and I won’t give up,
I think I’m gonna win this time,
I roll and I roll, ’til I change my luck, yeah,
I roll and I roll, ’til I change my luck,

‘Cause nobody knows you, baby, the way I do,
And nobody loves you, baby, the way I do,
It’s been so long, it’s been so long, you must be fireproof,
‘Cause nobody saves me, baby, the way you do,

~Lately I’ve Been, I’ve Been..~

20 points to you if you sang the title as One Republic’s Counting Stars starting. 😉

Hello lovely people!!

How are you all doing? How was the weekend? I hope you all are having a good start to the week.

Muscat has been given a warning for bad weather that includes rainstorm, thunderstorm and probably hailstorm as well. Looking forward to it, lol. I hope there are no damages done though, be it of life or material.

I was very busy last two weeks planning a wedding shower and made it happen. It went superb. Then I got very busy in my finals. In the mean time, my mum went off to a trip right a day before my finals got over. Currently I am very busy in packing as I am travelling soon. Not very excited, just stressed out. There is so much to do in a few days and I really don’t feel up to the mark.

Today I thought of doing a little post about what’s been going on in my life lately. I got the idea for this post from Becky’s Milk Bubble Tea blog. She often does such posts and they are always lovely. And because everything is scattered to a T in my room/life right now and I don’t feel much energized to do a proper post and I thought of this instead.

1- Lately.. the events I have been dealing with

Pakistani Wedding Shower

This was the seating for the event. It was a mix of South Asian (wooden sofa, sitting cushions next to it, and the colorful drapes at the back) and Arabian (Majlis) look. =)

2- Lately.. what I had read and felt.. 😐

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

I read it some days back. I don’t know if i just have a cold heart because unlike most of the people, i didn’t shed a tear while reading this book. Nor could i complete it in one go. I read 77 pages a few months back and the rest last week. I.. I wasn’t really moved by the book. Maybe i need to reread it twice or so to get it. I liked the writing and some parts were nice but I didn’t connect with it at an emotional level like everyone else did. I have started questioning myself, am i heartless? :s

3- Lately.. I’ve been sleeping to..

Books, Dreams, Fantasies, Hopes, Smiles, Happiness, Khula Aasmaan (open sky) and This.. ❤ Life is beautiful

4- Lately.. I’ve been drinking in

I’ve been having my coffee in Mum’s black and white striped cup because my Mug has got a very big crack line and two days back ever since a cup broke right when i was pouring hot water in it (yes it had a small crack line too) I’ve been afraid to use mine, haha. So much for being super strong.

5- Lately.. I’ve discovered

A gorgeous wallet with Pakistan’s traditional artwork on it. Found this in mum’s wardrobe. I’m stealing this one, aye. 😉

6- Lately.. on my desk

Mugs 1--

These pretty mugs. The one on the left was given to me on my birthday and the one on the right was given by a close friend as a token of friendship. Love these two. The red one has some inscriptions inside.

Mugs 2--

burn baby burn

My candle pot and the fragrance Enlighten by Adore. Love this smell. It’s heavenly. So very refreshing.

7- Lately.. what finally made its appearance

pencil box

My pencil box because of my finals, haha. I bought it a year and half back. It always makes its appearance at the end of my uni semesters on my written exams. This pouch was overpriced but I bought it still because I loved the print. So many different faces and them red lips, LOL. It is quite spacious too.

8- Lately.. the weather

Muscat has been covered with fluffy clouds lately and its just such a pretty and rare sight. This picture was taken on 19th. The sun was playing hide and seek throughout the day. Loved it.

9- Lately.. major problem

I have got just one question: How the hell do we even pack light???!!

10- Lately.. my obsessions

Makeup and other products

Trying to smooth out my skills with a pen than my usual wand stick and create a proper wing shape with my new Revlon liquid eye pen liner.

On my nials – Britpop, Britpop, Britpop. ❤

Rimmel – Salon Pro Nail Polish by Kate Moss 713 Britpop

11- Lately.. I’ve read

If I Stay by Gayle Forman (If I Stay #1)

if i stay

Been doing some ebook reading because very broke to buy real books. 😛 Also, din’t find it in Borders here. I wasn’t going to buy it anyway because wasn’t sure if I’d like it. Got done with it last night and found it really good. Will prolly do a review once I am back or something.

12- Lately.. Reading

Where She Went by Gayle Forman (If I Stay #2)

Where she went

Started it last night. So far its going good. Can’t wait to read more. =)

13- Lately.. been listening to

Summer Love by One Direction

Summer Love

Such a massive fan of 1D but I’d never listened to this song or She’s Not Afraid or Loved You First until two weeks back. :/ Like i did hear them in the movie but i didn’t have the full songs. Finally downloaded them and damn, love at first hear i’d say.

This brings us to the end. I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed compiling them. =) Also, I prolly won’t be able to post much in the coming three weeks because I have a complete wedding to plan, prepare and execute, haha. Wish me luck. 😀

Love you guys. xx

PS. Please don’t be a silent reader or shy to state your opinion about my posts in the comments below. I love hearing from you all. (:

A Thoughtful Gift – One Direction Related

Hiee guys!!

While I was blogging about Search Engine Strangeness Tag a few days back, I went through some old posts and read how I had mentioned to write about something which I later forgot. (As expected) So starting from today I will be blogging about those forgotten things. 🙂

The first forgotten one I am going to write about was mentioned in my Goodbye 2013 post regarding British Invasion in my life.

I met a friend a few days before New Year. He called me up and said let’s go to college quickly and then grab a coffee. It was quite out of ordinary as this semester we hardly hung out. So, I got ready, he came to get me and once in the car, after a bit, he opened his arm rest compartment and brought this little cute Claire’s bag out and said, ‘This is something I got for you. I was just crossing Claire’s, saw this and knew perfectly well you would love to have it.’ I was taken by surprise. We have been college mates for one and a half year now but we never exchanged gifts or stuff. We would often pay for each other’s tab while we eat out but never gifting each other in a proper manner.

When I opened the bag, I found a pretty necklace with ‘One Thing’ pendent on it and two cute ‘One Thing’ word combined rings. I was dumbstruck. I love One Direction and someone gifting me anything related to 1D is a big thing for me. It just shows how well they know you and considerate about your choices, likes and dislikes. I was overwhelmed and thanked him so profusely he asked me to shut up. 😛 Hehe.

We had a good time that day after really long. We actually hardly got to see each other much this semester but that day was fun, yeah. We would keep asking ‘so what’s the new year’s eve plan’ mischievously because knowing each other we were pretty sure both off us would either be off to bed by 11pm or with family.

I think sometimes people have the ability to amaze/shock you when you least expect it.

PS. We share a very platonic relationship and because I act very tomboyish he calls me his bro and not sister.
